Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to depart from Mina, he said: "Tomorrow we shall halt, in sha' Allah (if Allah wills), at Khayf Bani Kinanah, where they swore oaths upon disbelief", meaning the valley of al-Muhassab. What happened was that Quraysh and Banu Kinanah swore oaths against Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib that they would neither intermarry with them nor have any other dealings with them until they handed over the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to them. [Sahih: Bukhari: 1523, Muslim: 1314]
