Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: On the occasion of the Hajj I said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Where will you stay?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Has Aqil left us any dwelling?" Then he said: "Tomorrow we shall halt at Khayf Bani Kinanah, where the disbelievers swore oaths", meaning the valley of al-Muhassab. What happened was that Quraysh and Kinanah swore an oath against Banu Hashim that they would not intermarry with them, would not trade with them and would not give them shelter. Al-Zuhri said: Khayf means a valley.
