Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the occasion of the Farewell Hajj. We said the talbiyah for Umrah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has a sacrificial animal with him should say the talbiyah for Hajj together with Umrah, and then not leave ihram until he has finished both of them." She said: I arrived while menstruating. I did not perform tawaf of the House or between Safa and Marwah, and I complained about this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Undo your hair, comb it, say the talbiyah for Hajj and leave the Umrah." She said: I did so. When we had completed the Hajj, he (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me with Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to al-Tan'im, and I performed Umrah from there. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is in place of your Umrah." She said: Those who had said the talbiyah for Umrah performed tawaf of the House and between Safa and Marwah, then left ihram. Then, after returning from Mina, they performed tawaf for their Hajj; and those who had combined Hajj and Umrah performed only one tawaf.

Likewise (through another chain).
From Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) these additional words are reported: "Those who said the talbiyah for Hajj, or for both Hajj and Umrah, performed only one tawaf."

Likewise (through another chain).
What Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) meant by her words is that they performed one tawaf, (that is) the sa'y between Safa and Marwah. This is also in the narration of Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith Referenceالسنن الكبرى للبيهقي / كتاب الحج / 9417
(a) Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions performed only one tawaf between Safa and Marwah, their first tawaf.
(b) This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing Hajj alone (mufrid), and some of the Companions were combining Hajj and Umrah (qarin), so they performed one sa'y. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) had added Hajj on top of her Umrah, and she did not perform tawaf or the sa'y of Safa and Marwah before Arafah. After that she performed tawaf and the sa'y of Safa and Marwah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her the following:

Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that she began menstruating at Sarif and became pure at Arafah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "One tawaf between Safa and Marwah will suffice you for your Hajj and your Umrah."

Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): "Your tawaf of the House and between Safa and Marwah is sufficient for your Hajj and your Umrah."
Hadith Referenceالسنن الكبرى للبيهقي / كتاب الحج / 9420
Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that she said the talbiyah for Umrah and arrived, and she had not yet performed tawaf of the House when she began menstruating. She performed all the rites and said the talbiyah for Hajj, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Your tawaf is sufficient for your Hajj and your Umrah." She declined, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) with her to al-Tan'im, and she performed Umrah after the Hajj.

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and she was weeping. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why are you weeping?" She said: I am weeping because the people have left ihram and I have not; they have performed tawaf of the House and I have not yet been able to, and the time of Hajj has arrived. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is a matter that Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam, so take a bath, say the talbiyah for Hajj, then perform Hajj." She said: I did so. When I became pure, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform tawaf of the House and between Safa and Marwah, and you will have left ihram from your Hajj and your Umrah." She said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I feel something in my heart about my Umrah, that I did not perform tawaf before performing Hajj. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abd al-Rahman, take her and have her perform Umrah from al-Tan'im."

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said that Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said the talbiyah for Umrah during the Hajj of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When she reached Sarif, she began menstruating, and this weighed heavily on her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are one of the daughters of Adam; what befalls them has befallen you." When she reached al-Batha, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed her, and she said the talbiyah for Hajj. When she had completed all the rites, she came to al-Hasba and wished to perform Umrah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You have completed your Hajj and your Umrah." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was an easygoing man; when she desired something, he would go along with her in it. Matar said: Abu al-Zubayr said: Whenever Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) performed Hajj, she would do as she had done (then).

Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When al-Hajjaj came against Ibn al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both), and Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) had intended to perform Hajj, his sons Salim and Abdullah said to him: It will make no difference if you do not perform Hajj this year; we fear that fighting will break out among the people and you will be prevented from reaching the House. He said: If I am prevented from reaching the House, I will do as we did with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when Quraysh came between him (peace and blessings be upon him) and the House: he (peace and blessings be upon him) shaved his head and returned. I make you witnesses that I have made Umrah binding upon myself. Then he went to the tree and said the talbiyah for Umrah, until, when he ascended al-Bayda', he said: The matter of both is one and the same; if I am prevented from Umrah, I am prevented from Hajj. Bear witness that I have made Hajj binding upon myself along with my Umrah. He (Nafi') said: At that time he had no sacrificial animal with him. He travelled on until he reached Qudayd, where he bought a sacrificial animal, garlanded it, marked it (ish'ar), and drove it along with him. When he entered Makkah, he performed one tawaf for both of them (Hajj and Umrah), of the House and of Safa and Marwah. He used to say: Whoever combines Hajj and Umrah, one tawaf suffices him. And he did not leave ihram until he had left ihram from both of them together.

Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever combines Hajj and Umrah should perform one tawaf for both of them and one sa'y of Safa and Marwah, and he should not leave ihram until he has left ihram from both of them."
(b) Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Umrah has entered into Hajj until the Day of Resurrection." Its meaning is that its acts have entered into the acts of Hajj, and the two are united in practice. The qarin will not perform more than one tawaf, and likewise the sa'y, and he will also have only one ihram for them.
(c) Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said concerning the qarin: He will perform two tawafs and one sa'y. Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: This is the meaning of our position, that he performs the tawaf of arrival and the sa'y of Safa and Marwah, then performs the tawaf of visitation (ziyarah). Some people say: He performs two tawafs and two sa'ys. They have taken as evidence a weak narration. The Shaykh said: The most authentic is what is reported from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the two tawafs.
Hadith Referenceالسنن الكبرى للبيهقي / كتاب الحج / 9426
Abu Nasr (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I met Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and he had entered ihram for Hajj and Umrah while I had entered it for Hajj only. I said: "Can I do as you have done?" He said: "That would be possible had you begun with Umrah." I said: "How should I do it if I want that?" He said: "Take a vessel of water and pour it over yourself, then say the talbiyah for both of them, then perform two tawafs for them and two sa'ys, and nothing forbidden will become lawful for you before the Day of Sacrifice (yawm al-nahr)."
This Abu Nasr is majhul (unknown). It has also been narrated from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), both mawquf and marfu', through weak chains, which revolve around al-Hasan bin Umarah, Hafs bin Abi Dawud, Isa bin Abdullah and Hammad bin Abd al-Rahman; all of them are da'if (weak), and nothing they narrated on this is used as evidence.
