Abd al-Rahman bin Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) conquered Makkah, I said: I will put on my clothes, and my house was right on the road, and I will see what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) does. So I went and saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) had come out of the Ka'bah; they touched the House of Allah from the door to the Hatim and placed their cheeks on the House of Allah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in their midst.

Amr bin Shu'ayb narrated from his father that he said: I was performing tawaf with Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both), and I saw some people clinging to the House of Allah. So I said: Come with us, let us also cling to the House of Allah along with them. He said: "A'udhu billah" (I seek refuge with Allah). Then, when he had finished his tawaf, he clung to (the area) between the door and the Stone, and said: In the same way I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) clinging.
It is not known whether Ibn Jurayj heard it from Amr or not; the hadith is well known through al-Muthanna bin al-Sabbah.

Amr bin Shu'ayb narrated from his father that he said: I performed tawaf with Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both). When we came to the back of the Ka'bah, I said: Why do you not seek refuge? He said: "A'udhu billahi min al-nar" (I seek refuge with Allah from the Fire). Then he went on until he kissed the Black Stone, stood between the corner and the door, placed his chest, his face, his forearms and his palms (against it), spreading them out fully, and then said: In this way I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) do it.
