أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ الْفَقِيهُ، حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، فِيمَا قَرَأَ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، فِي آخَرِينَ قَالُوا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ، أنبأ مَالِكٌ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، وَالْمِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ اخْتَلَفَا بِالْأَبْوَاءِ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: " يَغْسِلُ الْمُحْرِمُ رَأْسَهُ " وَقَالَ الْمِسْوَرُ: " لَا يَغْسِلُ الْمُحْرِمُ رَأْسَهُ "، فَأَرْسَلَنِي ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِلَى أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ بَيْنَ الْقَرْنَيْنِ وَهُوَ يُسْتَرُ بِثَوْبٍ، قَالَ: فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ: " مَنْ هَذَا؟ " فَقُلْتُ: أَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ حُنَيْنٍ أَرْسَلَنِي إِلَيْكَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ لِيَسْأَلَكَ كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَغْسِلُ رَأْسَهُ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ؟ قَالَ: فَوَضَعَ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ يَدَهُ عَلَى الثَّوْبِ فَطَأْطَأَهُ حَتَّى بَدَا لِي رَأْسُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِإِنْسَانٍ يَصُبُّ عَلَيْهِ: " اصْبُبْ " فَصَبَّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ، ثُمَّ حَرَّكَ رَأْسَهُ بِيَدَيْهِ فَأَقْبَلَ بِهِمَا وَأَدْبَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ: " هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُهُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُ " لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ الْقَعْنَبِيِّ، رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ، وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ قُتَيْبَةَ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ مَالِكٍ.
Abdullah bin Abbas and Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with them both) differed at al-Abwa'. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the one in ihram may wash his head, and Miswar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that he may not. So Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) sent me to Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him). I found him bathing behind the screen of a cloth. I greeted him with salam, and he asked: "Who is it?" I said: I am Abdullah bin Hunayn; Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) has sent me to you to ask how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to wash his head while in the state of ihram. Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) placed his hand on the cloth and lowered it until his head became visible to me. Then he said to the person who was pouring water over him: Pour. So he poured water over his head. Then he moved his head with his hands, bringing them forward and then taking them back, and said: "This is how I saw him (peace and blessings be upon him) doing it."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ، أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ، أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ، أنبأ سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ أَنَّ صَفْوَانَ بْنَ يَعْلَى، أَخْبَرَهُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ يَعْلَى بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَغْتَسِلُ إِلَى بَعِيرٍ، وَأَنَا أَسْتَرُ عَلَيْهِ بِثَوْبٍ إِذْ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: " يَا يَعْلَى اصْبُبْ عَلَى رَأْسِي " فَقُلْتُ: أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَعْلَمُ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: " وَاللهِ مَا يَزِيدُ الْمَاءُ الشَّعْرَ إِلَّا شَعَثًا " فَسَمَّى اللهَ ثُمَّ أَفَاضَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ.
Ya'la bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was bathing behind the screen of a camel, and on the other side I was screening him with a cloth. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Pour water over my head, O Ya'la! I said: The Commander of the Believers knows best. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! Water only makes the hair more dishevelled. Then he mentioned the name of Allah and poured water over his head.
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ، أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ، أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ، أنبأ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: رُبَّمَا قَالَ لِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: تَعَالَ " أُبَاقِيكَ فِي الْمَاءِ أَيُّنَا أَطْوَلُ نَفَسًا، وَنَحْنُ مُحْرِمُونَ ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Sometimes Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) would say to me: Come, let us dive into the water so that we may see which of us can hold his breath longer. And we were in the state of ihram.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرِ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ، ثنا أَبُو الْفَضْلِ بْنُ خُمَيْرَوَيْهِ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ عَاصِمَ بْنَ عُمَرَ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَقَعَا فِي الْبَحْرِ يَتَمَاقَلَانِ يُغَيِّبُ أَحَدُهُمَا رَأْسَ صَاحِبِهِ وَعُمَرُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمَا فَلَمْ يُنْكِرْ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِمَا.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Asim bin Umar and Abd al-Rahman bin Zayd both plunged into the sea and were diving, each pushing the other's head under water, while Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was watching them, and he did not object to it.
