أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْقَاضِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، أَخْبَرَنِي كُرَيْبٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: انْطَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ بَعْدَمَا تَرَجَّلَ وَادَّهَنَ وَلَبِسَ إِزَارَهُ وَرِدَاءَهُ هُوَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ وَلَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْإِزَارِ وَالْأَرْدِيَةِ تُلْبَسُ إِلَّا الْمُزَعْفَرَ الَّذِي يُرْدَعُ عَلَى الْجِلْدِ حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ رَكِبَ رَاحِلَتَهُ حَتَّى إِذَا اسْتَوَتْ عَلَى الْبَيْدَاءِ أَهَلَّ هُوَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ وَقَلَّدَ بَدَنَتَهُ وَذَلِكَ لِخَمْسٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ، فَقَدِمَ مَكَّةَ لِأَرْبَعٍ خَلَوْنَ مِنْ ذِي الْحَجَّةِ فَطَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَسَعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ وَلَمْ يَحِلَّ مِنْ أَجْلِ بُدْنِهِ؛ لِأَنَّهُ قَدْ كَانَ قَلَّدَهَا وَنَزَلَ بِأَعْلَى مَكَّةَ عِنْدَ الْحَجُونِ وَهُوَ مُهِلٌّ بِالْحَجِّ وَلَمْ يَقْرَبِ الْكَعْبَةَ بَعْدَ طَوَافِهِ بِهَا حَتَّى رَجَعَ مِنْ عَرَفَةَ وَأَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ يَطُوفُوا بِالْبَيْتِ وَبِالصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ثُمَّ يُقَصِّرُوا مِنْ رُءُوسِهِمْ وَيَحِلُّوا، وذَلِكَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ بَدَنَةٌ قَدْ قَلَّدَهَا وَمَنْ كان مَعَهُ امْرَأَتُهُ فَهِيَ لَهُ حَلَالٌ، وَالطِّيبُ، وَالثِّيَابُ رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيِّ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out from Madinah after combing his hair, applying oil, and putting on his lower garment (izar) and upper sheet, and his Companions did the same. He did not forbid any kind of lower garment, nor did he forbid wearing sheets, except saffron-dyed sheets. When he reached Dhu al-Hulayfah, he mounted his mount, and when it reached al-Bayda', he and his Companions said the talbiyah, and he garlanded his sacrificial animal. This was when five days of Dhu al-Qa'dah still remained. He reached Makkah on the 4th of Dhu al-Hijjah, performed tawaf of the House and of al-Safa and al-Marwah, and, since he had brought his sacrificial animals and garlanded them, he did not leave ihram. He stayed at al-Hajun in the upper part of Makkah, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in ihram for Hajj, and after performing tawaf of the Ka'bah he did not go near it until he returned from Arafah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded his Companions "to perform tawaf of the House and of al-Safa and al-Marwah, then to cut the hair of their heads and leave ihram." This was for those who had not brought garlanded sacrificial animals; and whoever had his wife with him, she was lawful for him, and they also wore perfume and (ordinary) clothes.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَالِينِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، بِمَكَّةَ، ثنا أَبُو حُمَةَ، ثنا أَبُو قُرَّةَ مُوسَى بْنُ طَارِقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، عَنْ لَيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحْرَمَ فِي ثَوْبَيْنِ قِطْرِيَّيْنِ ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered ihram in two Qitri garments.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الشَّافِعِيُّ، أنبأ يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمُ الْبَيَاضُ فَلْيَلْبَسْهَا أَحْيَاؤُكُمْ وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ " وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ كَامِلُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمُسْتَمْلِيُّ، أنبأ بِشْرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْإِسْفَرَايِينِيُّ، ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أنبأ بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " الْبَسُوا مِنْ ثِيَابِكُمُ الْبَيَاضَ؛ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمْ ".
(a) Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best of your clothes are the white ones, so let the living wear them, and shroud your dead in them."
(b) It is narrated from Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym similar to the previous hadith, but with different wording: "Wear white clothes, for they are the best of your clothes."
