Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: A gift of jewelry came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from the Negus, in which there was a gold ring with an Abyssinian stone. She said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) picked it up with a stick, turning away from it, or with one of his fingers. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Umamah bint Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with her), who was his granddaughter: "O little girl, wear this."

Zaynab bint Nubayt (may Allah be pleased with her) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) adorned her mother and her maternal aunt with jewelry. Their father, Abu Umamah As'ad bin Zurarah (may Allah be pleased with him), had entrusted them in his will to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So he (peace and blessings be upon him) adorned them both with earrings of raw gold set with pearls. Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I myself saw that jewelry, or part of it.

Sayyidah Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated from her mother: I and my two sisters were under the care of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to adorn us with gold and pearls.
In a narration of Abu Ubayd: He used to adorn us. Ibn Ja'far said: Earrings of gold and pearls. Safwan said: He used to adorn us with tibr (raw gold) and lu'lu' (pearls). Abu Amr said: The singular of ri'ath is ra'thah, and ra'thah is a qurt (earring). So these reports, and those that have come with the same meaning, indicate that gold jewelry is permissible for women; and from the consensus that has been reached on its permissibility for them, we have inferred that the reports indicating its prohibition for women specifically are abrogated.
