Hisham bin Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father that he said: I do not like to be buried in al-Baqi'; being buried elsewhere is dearer to me, because (the one buried there) will be one of two men: either a wrongdoer, whose neighbourhood I would not want, or a righteous man, whose bones I would not want broken on my account. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: "Breaking the bone of a dead person is like breaking the bone of a living person." Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) says: That is, they are equal in sin.
The Shaykh said: This hadith has also been narrated as a connected (mawsul) and marfu' (Prophetic) report.
