Dawud bin Qays says: My mother narrated to me that Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) died at al-Aqiq. Dawud says: That is a distance of about ten miles. I saw that he was carried on people's shoulders until he was brought into the mosque through the door of the house of Marwan, and he was placed in the courtyard in front of the houses of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The imam led the funeral prayer, and they (the women) also prayed over him following the imam.
