باب: من استحب أن يكفن في ثيابه التي قتل فيها بعد أن ينزع عنه الحديد والجلود وما لم يكن من عام لبوس الناس
Those who held it recommended that he be shrouded in the clothes in which he was killed, after removing iron, leather and anything not of people's ordinary clothing

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ الدَّارَبَرْدِيُّ بِمَرْوٍ، ثنا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: " رُمِيَ رَجُلٌ فِي صَدْرِهِ أَوْ فِي حَلْقِهِ، فَمَاتَ فَأُدْرِجَ كَمَا هُوَ فِي ثِيَابِهِ، وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى الله علَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man was struck by an arrow in his chest or his throat and died from it, so he was buried in the very clothes he was wearing; and at that time we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، أنبأ عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: بِقَتْلَى أُحُدٍ أَنْ يُنْزَعَ عَنْهُمُ الْحَدِيدُ وَالْجُلُودُ، وَأَنْ يُدْفَنُوا بِدِمَائِهِمْ وَثِيَابِهِمْ " وَقَدْ مَضَى فِي الرُّخْصَةِ فِي تَكْفِينِهِ فِي غَيْرِ ثِيَابِهِ الَّتِي قُتِلَ فِيهَا حَدِيثُ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، وَمُصْعَبِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا.
Sa'id bin Jubayr narrates from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave an order concerning the martyrs of Uhud: "Let the iron and leather be removed from them, and let them be buried in their clothes and their blood."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ شَوْذَبٍ الْمُقْرِئُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الدَّقِيقِيُّ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، أنبأ أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: أُتِيَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بِطَعَامٍ فَقَالَ: " قُتِلَ مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ مَا يُكَفَّنُ فِيهِ إِلَّا بُرْدَةٌ، وَكَانَ خَيْرًا مِنِّي، وَقُتِلَ حَمْزَةُ، أَوْ رَجُلٌ آخَرُ فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ مَا يُكَفَّنُ فِيهِ إِلَّا بُرْدَةٌ " أَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ، عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ.
Ya'qub bin Ibrahim bin Sa'd narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, that food was brought to Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: Mus'ab bin Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him) was killed, and nothing could be found in which to shroud him except a single cloak, and he was better than me; and Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him), or another man, was martyred, and nothing could be found in which to shroud him except a single cloak.
