It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It would not please me to have gold like (Mount) Uhud and spend it in the path of Allah, and then die when I die leaving behind ten uqiyahs of it, except for the price of a shroud or the payment of a debt."

Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We emigrated with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) seeking the pleasure of Allah Almighty, so our reward became due with Allah Almighty. Among us are those who passed away before and consumed nothing of that reward; among them was Sayyiduna Mus'ab bin Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him), who was martyred at the Battle of Uhud. He left nothing behind except a woollen cloak (blanket). When we covered his head with it his feet were exposed, and when we put it over his feet his head was uncovered. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Cover his head and put some idhkhir grass over his feet." And among us are those whose fruit has ripened and who are picking it.

Ibrahim bin Sa'd narrates from his father, from his grandfather, that food was brought to Sayyiduna Ibn Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: Mus'ab bin Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, and he was better than me, yet nothing could be found for him except a cloak in which he was shrouded; and Sayyiduna Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, or some other man, and he too was better than me, yet only a single cloak could be found for him in which he was shrouded. I can only think that our good things have been given to us early, in the life of this world.
