باب: ما يستحب من تسلية المريض، وقول العائد: لا بأس، طهور إن شاء الله
It is recommended to console the sick person, and for the visitor to say: "No harm, it is a purification, if Allah wills"

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ، ثنا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَى أَعْرَابِيٍّ يَعُودُهُ قَالَ: وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا دَخَلَ عَلَى مَرِيضٍ يَعُودُهُ قَالَ لَهُ: " لَا بَأْسَ، طَهُورٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ تَعَالَى " قَالَ: قُلْتَ: طَهُورٌ، كَلَّا، بَلْ حُمَّى تَفُورُ، أَوْ تَثُورُ، عَلَى شَيْخٍ كَبِيرٍ، تُزِيرُهُ الْقُبُورَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " فَنَعَمْ إِذًا ". رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ أَسَدٍ..
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) went to visit a Bedouin, and whenever he (peace and blessings be upon him) went to visit someone he would say: 'La ba's, tahurun in sha' Allah ta'ala' (No harm; it is a purification, if Allah Almighty wills). The man said: You say purification? Rather, this is a fever boiling over an old man, which will make him visit the graves. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then so it is."
وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو كَامِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ الْمُخْتَارِ، فَزَادَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ فَقَالَ لَهُ: " لَا بَأْسَ، طَهُورٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ " قَالَ: فَقَالَ: " طَهُورٌ، كَلَّا، بَلْ هِيَ حُمَّى تَفُورُ ". أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْأَدِيبُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ فَذَكَرَهُ.
