Bayhaqi 6594 — The visitor saying to the sick person: "How"

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Madinah, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) were struck by fever. She says: I went in to them and asked: "Father, how do you find yourself?" And I said to Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him): "How do you find yourself?" And she says: When the fever took hold of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), he would say: "Every man wakes up in the morning among his family, while death is nearer to him than the strap of his sandal." And when Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) grew weary (from the severity of the fever), he would say: "Will I ever spend a night in a valley with idhkhir and jalil (grasses) around me? Will I ever come down to the waters of Mijannah? Will Shamah and Tafil ever appear before me?" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, make Madinah beloved to us as Makkah is beloved to us, or even more, make its climate wholesome, bless us in its sa' and mudd, and transfer its fever to al-Juhfah."
