It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty is pure and accepts only what is pure, and Allah Almighty has commanded the believers with what He commanded the Messengers. Allah Almighty said: 'O Messengers, eat of the pure things and do righteous deeds; indeed, I am All-Knowing of what you do.' [Surah al-Mu'minun: 51] And He also said: 'O you who believe, eat of the pure things that We have provided you.' [Surah al-Baqarah: 172] Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned a man who travels at length, dishevelled and covered in dust, who stretches out his hands towards the sky and calls out, 'Ya Rabb, ya Rabb' (O my Lord, O my Lord), while his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothing is unlawful, and he has been nourished on the unlawful; so how can his supplication be answered?"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty said: Whoever shows enmity to a friend (wali) of Mine has declared war against Me. My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory upon him, and he continues to draw near to Me with voluntary deeds until I love him. Then, when I love him, I become his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he grasps, and his foot with which he walks. If he asks of Me, I will surely give to him, and if he seeks refuge with Me, I will surely grant him refuge."
Imam Bukhari narrated this hadith in his Sahih from Muhammad bin Uthman bin Karamah.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The gates of the heaven are opened every Monday and Thursday, and every person who does not associate anything with Allah Almighty is forgiven, except a person in whose heart there is rancour towards his brother." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is said: I give these two respite until they reconcile."
And Jarir narrated to us from Suhayl that he narrated a similar hadith, except that Allah Almighty says: "Give these two respite until they reconcile," and this is said twice.

Ibn Buraydah narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Buraydah, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No people ever break a covenant except that killing occurs among them; indecency never becomes widespread among a people except that Allah sets death upon them; and no people withhold zakah except that Allah Almighty withholds the rain from them."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): "No people ever break a covenant except that Allah Almighty sets their enemy over them; indecency does not spread among a people except that Allah Almighty seizes them with death; no people give short measure and weight except that Allah, Glorified be He, afflicts them with years of famine; no people withhold zakah except that Allah Almighty withholds the rain from the sky from them; and no people act unjustly in judgement except that fighting breaks out among them." I think he said the word "killing".
