Bayhaqi 6397 — Righting wrongs and drawing near to Allah the Exalted
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ الطُّوسِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا بَشِيرُ بْنُ مُهَاجِرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَا نَقْضَ قَوْمٌ الْعَهْدَ قَطُّ إِلَّا كَانَ الْقَتْلُ بَيْنَهُمْ، وَمَا ظَهَرَتْ فَاحِشَةٌ فِي قَوْمٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا سَلَّطَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَوْتَ، وَلَا مَنَعَ قَوْمٌ الزَّكَاةَ إِلَّا حَبَسَ اللهُ عَنْهُمُ الْقَطْرَ ". كَذَا رَوَاهُ بَشِيرُ بْنُ الْمُهَاجِرِ.
Ibn Buraydah narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Buraydah, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No people ever break a covenant except that killing occurs among them; indecency never becomes widespread among a people except that Allah sets death upon them; and no people withhold zakah except that Allah Almighty withholds the rain from them."
