(a) Urwah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that the sun was eclipsed during the lifetime of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the mosque.
(b) Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him), Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) and Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) all said that his (peace and blessings be upon him) prayer was held in the mosque.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The sun was eclipsed in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the people began saying: This has happened because of the death of Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him). Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the mosque, led the people in prayer and said: "O people! The sun and the moon are not eclipsed because of anyone's death or life. When you see this, hasten to the prayer."
