Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every sermon in which there is no testimony (shahadah) is like a leprous hand."
Muslim bin al-Hajjaj said: No one narrated this hadith from Asim from Kulayb except Abd al-Wahid bin Ziyad. When he was told of Abu Hisham al-Rifa'i's narration of it from Ibn Fudayl from Asim bin Kulayb, he said: Yahya bin Ma'in criticised Abu Hisham only because of this narration of his from Ibn Fudayl.
Abd al-Wahid bin Ziyad is among the trustworthy narrators whose solitary narrations are accepted.
