Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon, his eyes would turn red, his voice would rise and his anger would intensify, as though he (peace and blessings be upon him) were warning of an army about to attack in the morning or the evening. He (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "I and the Hour are like these two fingers," and he (peace and blessings be upon him) would leave a slight space between his index finger and middle finger. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "The best speech is the Book of Allah, the best way and conduct is that of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the worst of matters are the newly invented ones, and every innovation is misguidance." Then he would say: "I am closer to every believer than his own self. Whoever leaves wealth, it is for his family, and whoever leaves a debt, it is my responsibility." Ja'far (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when he (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon, his (peace and blessings be upon him) eyes would turn red, his voice would rise and his anger would intensify.

Sayyiduna Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I warn you of the Fire." So much so that, had he been in this place of mine, he would have made those in the market hear him; until the sheet he (peace and blessings be upon him) had on his shoulder fell off.
