It has reached us in the hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), concerning the man who entered the mosque after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had already prayed, that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is there no one who will give charity to this man by praying with him?"
So a man stood up and prayed with him.
And from Imam al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him), in a mursal report from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this incident: "So Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and prayed with him, although he had already prayed with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We came with Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), and he led us in the morning prayer at a place called al-Mirbad. Then we reached the mosque while the prayer was being held, so we prayed again with Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) was in command of the army of the people of Basrah, and Sayyiduna al-Nu'man bin Muqarrin (may Allah be pleased with him) was in command of the army of the people of Kufah, and I was between the two of them. They both arranged to meet me in the morning. Then one of them led his own men in prayer, and afterwards came to us and prayed with us as well.
