وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ قَالَ: قَالَ أَنَسٌ: كَانَ أَبُو مُوسَى عَلَى جُنْدِ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ وَالنُّعْمَانِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ عَلَى جُنْدِ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ وَكُنْتُ بَيْنَهُمَا فَتَوَاعَدَا أَنْ يَلْتَقِيَا عِنْدِي غُدْوَةً فَصَلَّى أَحَدُهُمَا بِأَصْحَابِهِ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَصَلَّى مَعَنَا ".
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) was in command of the army of the people of Basrah, and Sayyiduna al-Nu'man bin Muqarrin (may Allah be pleased with him) was in command of the army of the people of Kufah, and I was between the two of them. They both arranged to meet me in the morning. Then one of them led his own men in prayer, and afterwards came to us and prayed with us as well.
