Thabit (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I lead you in prayer just as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead us in prayer, without any kind of shortfall or addition. Thabit (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to do something in prayer that I do not see you doing: when he raised his head from bowing, he would stand for so long that one would think he had perhaps forgotten, and when he sat between the two prostrations, he would remain seated for so long that one would think he had perhaps forgotten.

It is narrated from Abu Qilabah that Sayyiduna Malik bin al-Huwayrith (may Allah be pleased with him) said to his companions: "Shall I not show you the manner of the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" At that time it was not the time of an obligatory prayer either. He stood, then bowed, then raised his head from bowing and remained standing for a little while, then prostrated, then raised his head from prostration and paused for a little while, then made the second prostration.
Abu Qilabah said: He prayed like our Shaykh Amr bin Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Ayyub said that Amr bin Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to do something that I have not seen other people doing: when he rose from both prostrations in the first and third rak'ahs, he would sit up straight, and then after that he would stand up.

It is narrated from Abu Abdullah Salim that Uqbah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Shall I not pray the way I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praying?" We said: "Of course! Please do show us." So he stood up and began to pray. When he bowed, he placed his palms on his knees, placed his fingers around his knees and kept his armpits apart, until everything settled in its place. Then he raised his head from bowing and stood up straight until every limb settled in its place. Then he prostrated, and again kept his arms apart, until everything settled in its place. Then he sat, likewise with calm, until every limb rested in its place. Then he did the same in all four rak'ahs, and after that he said: "This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praying, and this is how he used to lead us in prayer."
