It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray Zuhr when the sun had passed its zenith, and he would offer Asr at such a time that one of us could go to the far end of Madinah and come back while the sun was still clear and bright. I have forgotten (what he said about) Maghrib. He used to delay Isha until a third of the night. Then Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Then he said that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would (delay) it until half the night. He disliked sleeping before Isha, and likewise he disliked (worldly) talk after Isha. He (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray the morning prayer at such a time that each of us could recognise his companion, and in the Fajr prayer he (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite from sixty to a hundred verses.

Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I have not seen any person who was quicker in praying Zuhr early than the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). She did not make an exception of her father (Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him) nor of Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him).

A similar report is also narrated from Ishaq al-Azraq, except that it does not mention that she did not make an exception of her father nor of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). But this is his mistake (wahm); the correct version is the one narrated by the group, as Ahmad bin Hanbal and others said.
