It is narrated from Nafi' that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would say the takbir three times in the adhan and the testimony three times, and sometimes, when he said 'Hayya 'ala al-falah' (Come to success), he would say after it: 'Hayya 'ala khayr al-'amal' (Come to the best of deeds).

It is narrated from Nafi' that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would not give the adhan on his journeys, and he would say: 'Hayya 'ala al-falah' (Come to success), and sometimes he would say: 'Hayya 'ala khayr al-'amal' (Come to the best of deeds).

Ja'far bin Muhammad narrates from his father that Ali bin al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him), when he said 'Hayya 'ala al-falah' (Come to success) in his adhan, would say: 'Hayya 'ala khayr al-'amal' (Come to the best of deeds), and he would say: It is the first (original) adhan.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to say 'Hayya 'ala khayr al-'amal' (Come to the best of deeds) in the morning adhan, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him: "Say 'As-salatu khayrun min an-nawm' (Prayer is better than sleep) in its place." So he gave up saying 'Hayya 'ala khayr al-'amal'.
This wording is not established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in what he taught Bilal and Abu Mahdhurah, and we dislike adding it (to the adhan); and success comes from Allah.
