It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by two graves and said: "Indeed, these two are being punished, and not for anything major. One of them used to spread tales, and the other did not guard himself against the splashes of his urine." Waki' said: (meaning) he did not take care. The narrator said: He (peace and blessings be upon him) called for a fresh palm stalk, split it into two, planted one on one grave and the other on the other, then said: "Perhaps Allah Almighty will lighten the punishment for them as long as these do not dry out."

Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Hasanah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I and Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) set out, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out with a leather shield or something like a shield. He (peace and blessings be upon him) sat down, screened himself with it, and urinated while sitting. My companion and I said: Look at the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), how he urinates as a woman urinates, while he is sitting! He (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: "Do you not know what befell the man of Bani Isra'il? When any of them was touched by some urine, they would cut it off with shears. He forbade them from that, so he was punished in his grave."
