How to uncover oneself when relieving oneself

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ، ثنا أَبُو دَاودَ، ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا أَرَادَ حَاجَةً لَا يَرْفَعُ ثَوْبَهُ حَتَّى يَدْنُوَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ ". قَالَ أَبُو دَاودَ: رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَوَكِيعٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to relieve himself, he would not lift his garment until he was close to the ground.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، نا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ الْعَدْلُ، ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي سَهْلُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِمَعْنَاهُ. قَالَ أَبُو دَاودَ: إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْأَرْضَ. رَوَاهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ، قَالَ: حَتَّى يَدْنُوَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ.
Another hadith with the same meaning, except that it has these words: "until he reached the ground." Hasan li-ghayrihi (sound due to supporting narrations).
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْخِسْرُوجِرْدِيُّ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ مِنْ أَصْلِ كِتَابِهِ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ، شَيْخٌ جَلِيلٌ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا أَرَادَ الْحَاجَةَ تَنَحَّى، وَلَا يَرْفَعُ ثِيَابَهُ حَتَّى يَدْنُوَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to relieve himself, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would go far away, and he would not lift his clothes until he was close to the ground.
