أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ، أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ، أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ، أنبأ سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، يَقُولُ: " أنْزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَبُعًا صَيْدًا وَقَضَى فِيهَا كَبْشًا " قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ فِي غَيْرِ رِوَايَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ: وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ لَا يَثْبُتُ مِثْلُهُ لَوِ انْفَرَدَ، قَالَ الشَّيْخُ: وَإِنَّمَا قَالَهُ لِانْقِطَاعِهِ ثُمَّ أَكَّدَهُ بِحَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، وَحَدِيثُ ابْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ حَدِيثٌ جَيِّدٌ تَقُومُ بِهِ الْحُجَّةُ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى التِّرْمِذِيُّ: سَأَلْتُ عَنْهُ الْبُخَارِيَّ، فَقَالَ: هُوَ حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ، قَالَ الشَّيْخُ: وَقَدْ رُوِيَ حَدِيثُ عِكْرِمَةَ مَوْصُولًا.
Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him), the freed slave of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The hyena is game," and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled a ram for it.
Al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A hadith like this is not established if it is narrated alone.
The Shaykh (al-Bayhaqi) said: He only said this because its chain is broken; then he supported it with the hadith of Ibn Abi Ammar from Jabir, and the hadith of Ibn Abi Ammar is a good hadith by which proof is established. Abu Isa al-Tirmidhi said: I asked al-Bukhari about it, and he said: It is a sahih (authentic) hadith. The Shaykh (al-Bayhaqi) said: The hadith of Ikrimah has also been narrated with a connected chain.
