أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أنبأ رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، أنبأ سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ: اخْتَلَفَ فِيهَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، وَزَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، فَقَالَ زَيْدٌ: " لِيَكُنْ آخِرُ عَهْدِهَا بِالْبَيْتِ " يَعْنِي الطَّوَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: " إِذَا أَفَاضَتْ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ، ثُمَّ حَاضَتْ فَلْتَنْفِرْ إِنْ شَاءَتْ "، فَقَالَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ: إِنَّا لَا نُتَابِعُكَ إِذَا خَالَفْتَ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: " سَلُوا صَاحِبَتَكُمْ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ "، فَسَأَلُوهَا فَأَنْبَأَتْ أَنَّ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيِيِّ بْنِ أَخْطَبَ حَاضَتْ بَعْدَمَا طَافَتْ بِالْبَيْتِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ فَقَالَتْ لَهَا عَائِشَةُ: " الْخَيْبَةُ لَكِ حَبَسْتِنَا "، فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَنْفِرَ وَأَخْبَرَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ " أَنَّهَا لَقِيَتْ ذَاكَ وَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَنْفِرَ "، أَشَارَ الْبُخَارِيُّ إِلَى هَاتَيْنِ الرِّوَايَتَيْنِ وَأَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ مُخْتَصَرًا.
Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) differed about this. Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Her last act should be the circumambulation of the House (of Allah)." And Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When she has performed the Ifadah (circumambulation) on the Day of Sacrifice and then her menstruation begins, she may depart if she wishes." The Ansar said: "We will not follow you, since Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) differs with you." So Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Go and ask Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her)." So they asked her, and she said that Sayyidah Safiyyah bint Huyayy bin Akhtab (may Allah be pleased with her) began menstruating on the Day of Sacrifice after she had circumambulated the House (of Allah), so Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to her: "Disappointment be upon you! You are holding us back." They mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her to depart. And Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The same thing happened to me, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to depart as well.
