(a) Wabarah said that when Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) stoned the Jamrah, he stood to its left for as long as it would take you, if you wished, to recite Surah al-Baqarah.
(b) It is reported from Abu Mijlaz concerning the estimate of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar's (may Allah be pleased with them both) standing; he said that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would stand for about the length of reciting Surah Yusuf. And it is reported from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he would stand for about the length of reciting one of the Mi'in surahs (those of about a hundred verses).
It is narrated from Ata bin Abi Rabah (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would stand on raised ground at the two Jamrahs when he stoned them.
(c) And a marfu' narration (attributed to the Prophet) is reported from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) about stoning Jamrat al-Aqabah from the middle of the valley.
(d) And it is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Do not stone the Jamrah until the day has declined."
