أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، وَأَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الْفَقِيهُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالُوا: ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ الضَّرِيرُ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثنا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ جَالِسًا مَعَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَأَتَاهُ أَعْرَابِيٌّ، فَقَالَ: مَا لِي أَرَى بَنِي عَمِّكُمْ يَسْقُونَ اللَّبَنَ، وَالْعَسَلَ وَأَنْتُمْ تَسْقُونَ النَّبِيذَ؟ أَمِنْ حَاجَةٍ بِكُمْ أَمْ مِنْ بُخْلٍ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ مَا بِنَا حَاجَةٌ وَلَا بُخْلٌ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ وَخَلْفَهُ أُسَامَةُ فَاسْتَسْقَى فَأَتَيْنَاهُ بِإِنَاءٍ مِنْ نَبِيذٍ فَشَرِبَ وَسَقَى فَضْلَهُ أُسَامَةَ وَقَالَ: " أَحْسَنْتُمْ وَأَجْمَلْتُمْ" كَذَا فَاصْنَعُوا فَلَا نُرِيدُ تَغْيِيرَ مَا أَمَرَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مِنْهَالٍ.
Bakr bin Abdullah al-Muzani (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I was sitting with Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) when a Bedouin came and said: Why is it that I see your cousins giving milk and honey to drink while you give nabidh to drink? Is it because you are in need, or out of miserliness? Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Praise be to Allah, we have no need or shortage, nor is it miserliness. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived on his mount with Usamah (may Allah be pleased with him) behind him. He asked for a drink, and we gave him a vessel of nabidh. He (peace and blessings be upon him) drank from it and gave what was left to Usamah (may Allah be pleased with him), and said: "You have done well and done excellently. Keep doing this." We do not wish to change what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded.
