أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، فَذَكَرَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَمَعْنَاهُ مَرْفُوعًا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَادَ: " ثُمَّ أَتَى بِهِ الْبَيْتَ فَطَافَ بِهِ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ بِهِ إِلَى مِنًى فَأَقَامَ فِيهَا تِلْكَ الْأَيَّامَ، ثُمَّ أَوْحَى اللهُ تَعَالَى إِلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: {أَنِ اتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ} [النحل: ١٢٣] " وَالْمَوْقُوفُ أَصَوْبُ.
Through another chain a marfu' narration with the same meaning is reported. In it there is this addition: Then he brought him (Ibrahim, peace be upon him) to the House and he performed Tawaf of it; then he took him back to Mina and he spent those days there. Then Allah revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "Follow the religion of Ibrahim, the upright, and he was not of the polytheists." [Surah al-Nahl: 123]. The more correct view is that it is mawquf (a statement of the Companion).
