Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: During the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood by the Jamarat and said: "What day is this?" They said: The Day of Sacrifice. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What city is this?" They said: It is the Haram. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What month is this?" They said: The sacred month. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is the day of the Greater Hajj, so your blood, your wealth and your honour are sacred to you, like the sanctity of this city on this day." Then he said: "Have I conveyed?" They said: Yes. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began saying: "O Allah, bear witness." Then he bade the people farewell, and they said: This is the Farewell Pilgrimage.
