وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ثنا بُدَيْلُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ وَلَدٍ لِشَيْبَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ خَوْخَةٍ وَهُوَ يَسْعَى فِي بَطْنِ الْمَسِيلِ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: " لَا يُقْطَعُ الْوَادِي أَوِ الْأَبْطَحُ إِلَّا شَدًّا ".
A slave-mother (umm walad) of Shaybah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) through a small window; he was performing the sa'i in the bed of the watercourse between al-Safa and al-Marwah, and he was saying: "The valley, or al-Abtah, is not to be crossed except at a run."
