أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ الْقَاضِي قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ، أنبأ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " وَمَهَلُّ الْعِرَاقِ مِنْ ذَاتِ عِرْقٍ " كَذَا قَالَهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَكَذَلِكَ قِيلَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ وَالصَّحِيحُ رِوَايَةُ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، وَيُحتَمَلُ أَنْ يَكُونَ جَابِرٌ سَمِعَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ فِي مَهَلِّ أَهْلِ الْعِرَاقِ فَقَدْ:.
Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The place for the people of Iraq to begin the talbiyah is Dhat Irq."
This is how Abdullah bin Lahi'ah narrated it; the correct version is the narration of Ibn Jurayj, and it is possible that Jabir heard Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) say this about the miqat of the people of Iraq.
