(a) Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the Farewell Hajj and recited the talbiyah for Umrah. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has a sacrificial animal (hady) with him should recite the talbiyah for both Hajj and Umrah, and then not come out of ihram until he has completed both." She said: I arrived in Makkah while menstruating, and I had not performed tawaf of the House nor between Safa and Marwah, so I complained of that to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Undo your hair, comb it, recite the talbiyah for Hajj and leave the Umrah." She said: I did so. When we had completed the Hajj, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me with Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both) to al-Tan'im, and I performed Umrah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is in place of your Umrah." She said: Those who had recited the talbiyah for Umrah performed tawaf of the House and between Safa and Marwah, then came out of ihram; then they performed another tawaf when they returned from Mina after completing their Hajj. As for those who had combined Hajj and Umrah, they performed only one tawaf.
(b) Ma'mar narrated from al-Zuhri: Whoever has a sacrificial animal with him should call out the talbiyah for Umrah together with Hajj, then come out of ihram from both together.
(c) Uqayl narrated it from al-Zuhri and said: Whoever entered ihram for Umrah and did not bring a sacrificial animal should come out of ihram. Similar to it is the narration of Hisham bin Urwah from his father from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), that what was meant by his (peace and blessings be upon him) words, "Call out the talbiyah for Hajj and leave the Umrah," was: refrain from its rites and take on the rites of Hajj.
