أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا اغْتَسَلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ بَدَأَ فَأَفْرَغَ الْإِنَاءَ عَلَى يَدِهِ فَغَسَلَهَا ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ يُفْرِغُ بِيَمِينِهِ عَلَى شِمَالِهِ، ثُمَّ عَلَى فَرْجِهِ، ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ فَمَسَحَهَا، ثُمَّ غَسَلَهَا، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ، ثُمَّ أَفْرَغَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَسَائِرِ جَسَدِهِ، ثُمَّ تَنَحَّى فَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى وَغَيْرِهِ عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took the ritual bath for janabah (major impurity), he would tip the vessel over his hand and wash them three times, then pour water with his right hand over his left hand, then over his private part, then rub his hand on the ground, then wash it, then perform ablution as for prayer, then pour water over his head and over his whole body, then move aside and wash his feet.
