أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْمُسْتَمْلِي، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةُ، قَالَتْ: " أَدْنَيْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غُسْلَهُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ كَفَّهُ الْيُمْنَى فِي الْإِنَاءِ، فَأَفْرَغَ بِهَا عَلَى فَرْجِهِ فَغَسَلَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ، ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ بِشِمَالِهِ الْأَرْضَ فَدَلَكَهَا دَلْكًا شَدِيدًا، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ، ثُمَّ أَفْرَغَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثَ حَفَنَاتٍ مَلَأَ كَفَّيْهِ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ سَائِرَ جَسَدِهِ، ثُمَّ تَنَحَّى عَنْ مَقَامِهِ ذَلِكَ فَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ بِالْمِنْدِيلِ فَرَدَّهُ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُجْرٍ.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: My maternal aunt, Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), told me: I placed the water for the Messenger of Allah's (peace and blessings be upon him) ritual bath near him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) washed his palms two or three times, then put his right palm into the vessel and poured water with it over his private part, then washed it with his left hand. Then he rubbed his left hand vigorously on the ground, then performed ablution as for prayer, then poured three handfuls over his head, then washed his whole body. Then he moved away from that place and he (peace and blessings be upon him) washed his feet. Then I brought him a towel, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) returned it.
