فَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا زِيَادُ بْنُ مِخْرَاقٍ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ سَيَّارٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، قَالَ: كُنَّا قُعُودًا مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَامَ عَلَيْهِ مَرْوَانُ فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ مَا تَزَالُ تُحَدِّثُ بِأَحَادِيثَ لَا نَعْرِفُهَا، ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَيْفَ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ؟ قَالَ: مَعَ قَوْلِكِ آنِفًا، قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: " كُنَّا نَقُولُ: اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبُّهَا ".
Uqbah bin Sayyar narrates from a man who said: We were sitting with Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) when Marwan came and stood over him and said: "O Abu Hurayrah, you keep narrating hadiths that we do not know." Then he went away, then came back and said: "O Abu Hurayrah, how is the funeral prayer over the deceased?" He said: "Along with what you said just now?" He said: "Yes." So he said: We used to say: 'Allahumma anta rabbuha' (O Allah, You are her Lord).
