أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ فُورَكٍ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، أنبأ يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ نِسْطَاسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: " إِذَا تَبِعَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْجِنَازَةَ فَلْيَأْخُذْ بِجَوَانِبِ السَّرِيرِ الْأَرْبَعَةِ، ثُمَّ لِيَتَطَوَّعْ بَعْدُ أَوْ يَذَرَ فَإِنَّهُ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): "When one of you follows a funeral, let him take hold of all four sides of the bier; then after that let him do more as a voluntary good deed, or leave it, for indeed this is the Sunnah."
