أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيهِ وَسَلَّمَ: صَلَّى عَلَى ابْنِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حِينَ مَاتَ فَهَذِهِ الْآثَارُ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مَرَاسِيلَ فَهِيَ تَشُدُّ الْمَوصُولَ قَبْلَهُ، وَبَعْضُهَا يَشُدُّ بَعْضًا، وَقَدْ أثْبَتُوا صَلَاةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى ابْنِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَذَلِكَ أَوْلَى مِنْ رِوَايَةِ مَنْ رَوَى أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُصَلَّ عَلَيْهِ.
Ja'far bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father that when his (peace and blessings be upon him) son Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him) died, he (peace and blessings be upon him) offered his funeral prayer.
These reports, even though they are mursal, strengthen the connected report before them, and they strengthen one another; and they have established his (peace and blessings be upon him) funeral prayer over his son Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), and that is preferable to the narration of whoever narrated that he was not prayed over.
