Book of Funerals
باب: من بلغ ستين سنة فقد أعذر الله إليه في العمر، لقوله عز وجل أولم نعمركم ما يتذكر فيه من تذكر، وجاءكم النذير
Chapter: Whoever reaches sixty years, Allah has left him no excuse regarding his lifespan, because of His saying: "Did We not give you lives long enough for whoever would remember to remember? And the warner had come to you"

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ السَّامِرِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ، ثنا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ الْعَبْدِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَعْمَارُ أُمَّتِي مَا بَيْنَ السِّتِّينَ إِلَى السَّبْعِينَ، وَأَقَلُّهُمْ مَنْ يَجُوزُ ذَلِكَ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The lifespans of my Ummah will be between sixty and seventy years, and very few will exceed that."
