وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُجَاهِدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، فَذَكَرَهُ عَلَى اللَّفْظِ الْأَوَّلِ. ⦗٤٩٦⦘ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَبِي، فَقَالَ أَبِي: أَعْطَانَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ كِتَابَهُ عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ فَنَسَخْنَاهُ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ فِيهِ لَيْسَ هَذَا بِشَيْءٍ، كَأَنَّهُ أَنْكَرَهُ مِنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، قَالَ أَبِي: فَحَدَّثَنَاهُ يَعْلَى أَخُو مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا مِسْعَرٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ الْفَقِيرِ مُرْسَلًا وَلَمْ يَقُلْ: بَوَاكِي، خَالَفَهُ.
Muhammad bin Ubayd narrated the hadith to us and mentioned the first wording. Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I narrated this hadith to my father (may Allah have mercy on him), and my father said: Muhammad bin Ubayd gave us his book (of narrations) from Mis'ar and we copied it, and this hadith was not in it. This is nothing. It is as if he rejected it from Muhammad bin Ubayd. My father said: Ya'la, the brother of Muhammad, narrated it to us: Mis'ar narrated to us from Yazid al-Faqir as mursal, and he did not say 'weeping people'; he contradicted him.
