Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that after the iqamah for the Isha prayer had been called, a man said: "I have some business," or he said: "I have a need." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept talking with him until the people fell asleep, or some of them fell asleep. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) led them in prayer.
(b) In the narration of Hajjaj: The iqamah for the prayer had been called when a man said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have some business." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) kept talking with him and some of the people fell asleep; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) led the prayer, and he did not mention that they performed ablution.
