Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver the sermon like this: 'Al-hamdu lillahi nahmaduhu wa nasta'inuhu, na'udhu billahi min shururi anfusina, man yahdihillahu fala mudilla lahu, wa man yudlil fala hadiya lahu, wa ashhadu an la ilaha illallahu wa anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluhu, arsalahu bil-haqqi bashiran wa nadhiran bayna yadayis-sa'ah, man yuti'illaha wa rasulahu faqad rashada, wa man ya'sihi fa innahu la yadurrullaha shay'an, wa la yadurru illa nafsah' "All praise is for Allah; we praise Him and seek His help. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls. Whomever Allah guides, none can lead him astray, and whomever Allah leads astray, none can guide him. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is His servant and Messenger. He sent him with the truth as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner before the Hour. Whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger has been rightly guided, and whoever disobeys will not harm Allah in the least; he will only harm himself."
