أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقَاضِي، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ، وَالْفَرْوِيُّ قَالَا: ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ: خُطْبَةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ: يَحْمَدُ اللهَ وَيُثْنِي عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ عَلَى أَثَرِ ذَلِكَ وَقَدْ عَلَا صَوْتُهُ وَاشْتَدَّ غَضَبُهُ وَاحْمَرَّتْ وَجْنَتَاهُ كَأَنَّهُ مُنْذِرُ جَيْشٍ يَقُولُ: صَبَّحَكُمْ أَوْ مَسَّاكُمْ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: " بُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَالسَّاعَةُ كَهَاتَيْنِ " وَأَشَارَ بِأُصْبُعِهِ ⦗٣٠٣⦘ الْوُسْطَى وَالَّتِي تَلِي الْإِبْهَامَ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ أَفْضَلَ الْحَدِيثِ كِتَابُ اللهِ، وَخَيْرَ الْهَدْيِ هَدْيُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَشَرَّ الْأُمُورِ مُحْدَثَاتُهَا، وَكُلَّ بِدْعَةٍ ضَلَالَةٌ، مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِأَهْلِهِ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَيَّ وَعَلَيَّ " لَفْظُ ابْنِ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ.
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) heard that he (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying that on Friday he (peace and blessings be upon him) praised and extolled Allah, and then after that he was delivering the sermon in a loud voice; his (peace and blessings be upon him) anger had become intense and his cheeks had turned red, as though he (peace and blessings be upon him) were warning of an army that would attack you in the morning or the evening. Then he would say: "I and the Hour have been sent like this," and he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his middle finger and the finger next to the thumb. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best speech is the Book of Allah, the best way is the way of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the worst of matters are the newly invented ones, and every innovation is misguidance. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his family, and whoever leaves behind a debt or loss, that is my responsibility."
