أنبأ أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، وَحَرْمَلَةُ، قَالَا: ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْرَمَةُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ " أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ صَلَّوَا الصُّبْحَ " وَرُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ مَرْوَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ " أَنَّهُ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ وَالشَّمْسُ عَلَى أَطْرَافِ الْحِيطَانِ، وَكَرِهَ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ جَمَاعَةٌ مِنْهُمْ عِنْدَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَعِنْدَ غُرُوبِهَا ".
Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) said that, together with Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), he prayed the funeral prayer over Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when they had prayed the morning prayer.
(b) Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) led a funeral prayer while the sun was still on the edges of the walls. A group held that the funeral prayer should not be prayed at sunrise and at sunset.
