(a) Sayyiduna Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praying. When he began the prayer, he would raise his hands up to the level of his shoulders, and when he bowed he would do so too, and when he raised his blessed head from bowing he would do the same.
(b) Sayyiduna Wa'il (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) in the winter season, and I saw that the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) raised their hands even inside their cloaks.
