أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ السُّكَّرِيُّ، بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ التَّرْقُفِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ: " السَّائِبَةُ يَضَعُ مَالَهُ حَيْثُ شَاءَ " قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: لَمْ يَسْمَعْ هَذَا مِنْ سَلَمَةَ أَحَدٌ غَيْرِي. قَالَ الشَّيْخُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ: " يُحْتَمَلُ أَنْ يُرِيدَ بِهِ: أَنْ يَضَعَهُ فِي حَيَاتِهِ حَيْثُ شَاءَ، لِأَنَّ مَوْلَاهُ يَتَنَزَّهُ عَنْ أَخْذِ مَالِهِ بَعْدَ وَفَاتِهِ، وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ..
Abu Amr al-Shaybani (may Allah have mercy on him) relates that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The sa'ibah may spend his wealth wherever he wishes.
Shu'bah said: No one heard this from Salamah except me.
Al-Shaykh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: What is meant is that he may place it wherever he wishes during his lifetime, because his master would keep away from taking his wealth after his death.
