أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَجَعْفَرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَا: ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ، وَسَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَ: نُبِّئْتُ أَنَّ سَالِمًا، مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ أَعْتَقَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَقَالَتِ: " اذْهَبْ فَوَالِ مَنْ شِئْتَ "، فَوَالَى أَبَا حُذَيْفَةَ، فَلَمَّا أُصِيبَ اخْتَصَمُوا فِي مِيرَاثِهِ، فَجُعِلَ مِيرَاثُهُ لِلْأَنْصَارِ..
Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I was informed that Salim (may Allah be pleased with him), the freed slave of Abu Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), was freed by a woman of the Ansar (may Allah be pleased with her), and she said: Go and take as your patron whomever you wish. He took Abu Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) as his patron. When he was martyred, there was a dispute over his inheritance, and his inheritance was assigned to the Ansar.
