أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ إِمْلَاءً، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ، ثنا شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، فَذَكَرَهُ، أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ فِي الْبَيْعِ. وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَلَى الْوَهْمِ فِي إِسْنَادِهِ دُونَ مَتْنِهِ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى فِيمَا بَلَغَنِي عَنْهُ: سَأَلْتُ عَنْهُ الْبُخَارِيَّ، فَقَالَ: يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ أَخْطَأَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ، إِنَّمَا هُوَ: عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ تَفَرَّدَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، يَعْنِي: بِاللَّفْظِ الْمَشْهُورِ..
The same report was also narrated (through the route of the huffaz) from Ubaydullah bin Umar, and he mentioned it.
Muhammad bin Abd al-Malik bin Abi al-Shawarib narrated it from Yahya bin Sulaym with the error in its chain but not in its text. Abu Isa (al-Tirmidhi) (may Allah have mercy on him) said, in what reached me from him: I asked al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) about it, and he said: Yahya bin Sulaym erred in his narration; it is only from Abdullah bin Dinar, from Ibn Umar, and Abdullah bin Dinar alone narrated this hadith, meaning with the well-known wording.
