أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، أنبأ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أنبأ هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْوَلَاءُ لُحْمَةٌ كَلُحْمَةِ النَّسَبِ، لَا يُبَاعُ وَلَا يُوهَبُ ". قَالَ الشَّيْخُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ: " وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ أَوْجُهٍ أُخَرَ كُلُّهَا ضَعِيفَةٌ.
Al-Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The bond of wala' is like the bond of lineage. It cannot be sold or given as a gift."
